Diet pills are probably the answer to half a
billion prayers worldwide. While it may seem like "just another drug,"
these miracle pills are the messiahs, in comparison to the diabolical
scheme taking place by market chains to make you fat and steal your
money.
46% of men in the United Kingdom are overweight. An additional 17% of
men are clinically obese. Likewise, 32% of women are overweight, with an
added 21% being classed as obese. The following is likely to happen to
over half of our beloved nation
Stroke
Infertility
Respiratory problems
Heart attack, clogged arteries, high blood
pressure and/or cholesterol
Sleep apnea
Liver disease
Once upon a time, in the 1980s, greed and
ignorance tickled the wallets of rich men and women in the catering
industry, who felt profit over nationwide health was their lifetime
ambition. Not once did these people think about the consequences of
their selfishness; not once did they think pumping microwave spaghetti
full of E numbers and calories would harm anyone.
Ready meals should contain the maximum of a third of daily nutrition. I
think I speak for the entire nation when I find it disgusting to find
that 20% of these microwave monsters contain 80% of daily nutrition,
while 19% contain about a half.
The ready meal industry has been skyrocketing since the 1980's, which is
shown in the current obesity trends. The lack of money in typical hard
working households led to these greedy people taking advantage of
peoples poverty - now 80% of British households own a microwave, in
comparison to the 27% of Italians.
We can also point the blame on fast food chains such as McDonalds and
KFC. With trans fats present in the greasy food, negative effects will
occur on the health; weight gain will happen quicker. Moreover, there
are ridiculous numbers of calories in fast food: a typical McDonalds
meal contains 1500 calories. Scientists make a claim that fast food is
just as addictive as heroin. While fast food may not be as harmful as
heroin, it is easier to get hold of, and more people will suffer for it.
The nation's getting fat, and we're all hooked on ready meals and fast
food. Diet pills have been undergoing research and testing for years
now, and are finally becoming available to the public. Some diet pills
stop the function of lipase, which is the enzyme that breaks down fat;
it stops around 30% of fat being digested in the intestine. With less
fat being consumed, more weight is going to be lost! The tablets release
a chemical called serotonin, which makes you feel satisfied.
So thanks to the beauty of modern day science, and tireless effort and
research of scientists and engineers, we are on the verge of rebellion
against obesity, caused by the greed and wilful ignorance of businessmen
and women.
