Health Insurance Information

It would be great if this was possible without becoming a Socialist country or without scary long waits in the emergency room.

It would be great if this was possible without becoming a Socialist country or without scary long waits in the emergency room.  Since there is already a group discount for health insurance, you would think a bigger group like the whole U.S.A. would be even cheaper right?   Without some way to eliminate high risk/at risk individuals it could actually be more expensive. But free markets can do that governments can not, after all we all pay taxes.

I think what we need is less government, less taxes and more freedom. Consider the fact that Social Security is already unable to sustain itself as it is. Consider the fact that income taxes were begun as merely a temporary measure. Government spending is like a snowball going downhill, it is never going back. The fatal weakness in this idea is how would we ever pay for it and cap expenses from spiraling out of control?

Let me propose an equally valid alternative solution or two. I think we really need more focus on prevention, health and natural health like herbs, homeopathy, reflexology, acupuncture, fasting, nutrition/diet and even using food as medicine.  I am very much in favor of Naturopathic Medicine which attempts to treat the root cause of illness. Yes, a practical and affordable solution for all. The state of Massachusetts' mandatory health insurance experiment has resulted in unaffordable premiums for average working families and has directly contributed to a huge budget deficit.  Even after a very large stimulus check courtesy of the Federal Government and tax payers.

One small thing we could all do to help reduce our own health care costs.  On my car insurance with a leading insurer, I have a rider that covers my own health care/hospitalization costs and my passengers also up to $100,000 for me & a total of $300,000 per incident. It is dirt cheap quality coverage. This protects me as a pedestrian, on public transportation, on planes & trains and in someone else's car too. Almost anyone can afford this reasonable free market solution that is already in place.

If the average American got this affordable coverage, we would all be better served at a ridiculously low price. Consider the lives of your children and grandchildren do you want them to suffer permanent poverty because government costs spiraled out of control?  There are real affordable solutions, the ideas here just a few of them.

Here is another:  What if the US passed a law to ban all drug advertising for both over the counter and prescription drugs?  Folks would still get the drugs they need, but the prices would be cut by about 40% in the US.  Other countries would soon follow this practice and the whole world would benefit.  I believe the real answer is in controlling costs in the health care, pharmaceutical industry and health insurance field

.
Health care is so different though since so many have marginal health issues that would have to be addressed the minute health care became free for all. You must honestly consider the ramifications of such a nationwide proposal generating an unlimited amount of annual expenditure. The tax man could gobble up all of our paychecks without a second thought.  I have been to the hospital and seen the huge bills myself; it could happen.

First before making such costly proposals, it would be most prudent to make a detailed plan showing how it is possible to pay for such an uncapped expense? Since it is not economically feasible now it becomes a moot point.  (At the time this is written our federal budget deficit is around $12 Trillion) However, I know together we can solve any problem! Let's all think up our own solutions on this, and send our good news and great ideas to our leaders to get the ball rolling.
